Four countries, five Stakes performers including Classic second in excellent weekend for Bonneval sire.

Nitoi

Siyouni is no stranger to success on the international stage, and the past three days have proved no exception.

The weekend got off to a good start on Friday when Wertheimer homebred Nitoi landed the Listed Prix de Suresnes at Chantilly. A winner on his only start at two, Nitoi was second on his seasonal reappearance in the Gr.3 Prix Noailles. With a Stakes success under his belt, the colt could now head to the Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club, where he would bid to become the third winner of this Classic for his sire.

On the other side of the Atlantic, Bellezza won the Gr.3 Sheepshead Bay Stakes at Belmont at the Big A. This Moyglare Stud homebred was already a Listed winner in Ireland when trained by Ger Lyons, and was making her US debut for new trainer Christophe Clement.

Earhart

On Saturday at Woodbine, Earhart was another Siyouni filly to pick up her first Graded Stakes success. She took the Gr.3 Whimsical Stakes by an impressive five and a half lengths, taking the combined winning distance of her three victories (from four starts) to date to 23 ¼ lengths.

Earhart was bred in France by Ecurie Des Monceaux and LNJ Foxwoods, and now races for the latter, having been bought outright at the 2022 Arqana August Yearling Sale for €1.4 million.

On Sunday, the focus turned to Newmarket. No active sire has provided the winners of the 1000 Guineas, Irish 1000 Guineas and the Poule d’Essai des Pouliches in their career – and Siyouni came incredibly close to completing the feat this weekend, with Flight running an excellent second in this first fillies Classic of 2025.

Bred and owned by Cornthrop Bloodstock, Flight had a busy two-year-old campaign, running five times and never finishing out of the first three, including third in the Gr.2 May Hill Stakes. She was making her three-year-old debut in the Gr.1 1000 Guineas, and finished just a length behind the winner.

Siyouni

On the same card, Godolphin’s Beautiful Love finished third in the Gr.2 Dahlia Stakes, not far behind Group 1 winners Cinderella’s Dream and Elmalka. Beautiful Love has already won at Graded Stakes level in the USA.

Siyouni is the sire of 87 Stakes winners in total, with nine already in 2025.

Currently the leading sire in Europe by prizemoney, Sea The Stars was also in on the action this weekend, with Bellum Justum running out the winner of the Gr.2 Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. The four-year-old could next head to the Gr.2 Hardwicke Stakes at Royal Ascot.
