Algebre

On Wednesday, Siyouni colt Algebre won the Listed Prix des Jouvenceaux & Jouvencelles at Vichy. The Wertheimer et Frère homebred, who is out of Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed mare Soustraction, made a winning racecourse debut last month and was also placed third in the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure at Deauville prior to this week’s Stakes success.

Connections have mooted a trip to Canada could now be on the cards for the speedy colt, with the Gr.1 Summer Stakes at Woodbine next month.

Alpha

The following day, blue-blooded filly Alpha scored in the Gr.3 Silver Flash Stakes at Leopardstown for Sea The Stars. Owned and bred by Flaxman Stables and Coolmore, she is out of the Niarchos family’s multiple Group 1 winner Alpha Centauri. Alpha holds a Gr.1 Moyglare Stud Stakes entry for later this year.
