The classy filly had already shown her potential when winning the Listed Junioren Preis on just her second start as a two-year-old, before being put away for the winter. After finishing fifth on her seasonal reappearance in a Preis der Diana trial, she stepped forward to win the Gr.3 Hamburger Stutenpreis over 1m3f in Hamburg just a month ago. She confirmed that promise in Sunday's German Classic, producing a dominant performance to defeat the unbeaten Prix Saint-Alary winner Lapotheose by 3½ lengths.

Her jockey, Eduardo Pedroza, said after the race: "She gave me a good feel today. She's the type who always gives everything, and once we hit the front she drew away."

Soreanga provided her owner-breeder, Gestüt Fährhof, with its first German Oaks winner since 1994. Andreas Jacobs said: "This is what you do it for—it's a very emotional moment."

Bred on the successful Siyouni × Galileo cross, Soreanga became the 10th Classic winner for her sire, Siyouni.
