Draft strong in promise for flat or jumps.
Lot 172 Zahid
The six-strong Aga Khan Studs consignment for Arqana’s forthcoming Autumn Sale ticks the boxes for both pedigrees and performances. All half-dozen three-year-olds have won at least one race, and hail from some of the operation’s top bloodlines.
A grandson of Prix de Diane heroine Zainta, lot 172 Zahid (Cape Cross) is the winner of one of his five outings, and placed on three occasions. Rated 81, the colt presents an ideal profile for the flat or jumps, as his dam is a half-sister to Group 1 winning hurdlers Zaynar and Zaidpour, while the dual Group 1 victrix Zainta is a half-sister to Zaiyad, also successful at the highest level over jumps.
Lot 107 Ashutor
Recent easy winner Ashutor (lot 107) now counts two victories from five public appearances. The grey gelding is a son of top Australian sire Redoute’s Choice and dual Group 2 winner Ashalanda (Linamix), who has already produced Listed scorer Rickfield (ex Ashlan) and Stakes performer Ashkannd.
Another dual winner, Shahjalal (lot 109) is the first offspring of a half-sister to Group 1 Prix de l’Opéra victrix Shalanaya and Group 2 Prix Chaudenay winner Shankardeh. From the family of Shergar, this colt by Excelebration has won over an extended mile, and 10 furlongs.
Lot 109 Shahjalal
Lot 108 Lasspour opened his account recently in a mile and a half handicap. By Dalakhani, the progressive type is out of a half-sister to Group 1 globetrotter and sire Linngari and to the dam of 2016 Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris winner Mont Ormel.
The consistent Tegerek (lot 170) has won one race and been placed three times from a mile to 10 and a half furlongs. The son of Mount Nelson is a half-brother to Group 3 winner Taniya, and his dam is a half-sister to five Stakes performers, including the prolific Takarian, winner of five Group contests.
Finally, recent seven furlong scorer Zeyzoun (Excelebration, lot 171) counts five winners among his siblings, most notably Gr.3 Prix Daphnis winner Ziyarid, and Zayva, a Listed scorer at Chantilly.
