Grey Mirik is a son of Kameko out of Listed winner Mila, making him a half-brother to Grade 1 winning chaser Mirabad and Australian Stakes performer Mirann.
Mirik ran four times as a two-year-old, winning two and placing once, his only non-placed performance a fifth in the Gr.3 Prix Thomas Byron at Chantilly.
The following season, Mirik opened his account with a second place in the Listed Prix François Mathet. He went on to achieve his first Stakes success in August, when winning the Listed Grand Prix de Clairefontaine.
Owned and bred by Princess Zahra Aga Khan, Mandanaba is the final foal out of her three-time Group 1 winner Mandesha, who was Champion Three-Year-Old filly of 2006.
