Held up from behind for most of the race, Starpix's late surge from the back of the field came just a fraction too late to catch Turtle Bowl in the final furlong of the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat at Chantilly yesterday. Unlucky in his Group 3 Prix de la Jonchere encounter with Turtle Bowl, when stumbling badly and losing forward momentum, this was the Linamix colt's first Group 1 outing and trainer Jean Claude Rouget was pleased to note that his relaxed demeanour suggested that Starpix had left his previous Chantilly misfortune behind him.

In the Fillies' Group 3, the 9 furlong Prix Chloe, Live Life (Linamix ex Reine de la Ciel) made all the running only to be caught by a fast finishing Needlecraft in the final furlong. Updated 04/07/2005.
