Sea The Stars, Siyouni and Sinndar take Group honours in Europe and USA. The Aga Khan Studs sires enjoyed a prolific weekend with three Group successes in France, Norway and the USA.

Casual Smile provided the highlight of this treble, becoming her sire Sea The Stars’ first American Stakes winner when taking the Gr. 3 Matchmaker Stakes at Monmouth Park in fine style. William Farish’s blue-blooded homebred is a daughter of two Epsom Classic scorers, as she represents the first generation of Sea The Stars progeny and she is out of Oaks heroine Casual Look. Casual Smile began her career in England, where she notably finished second to Sea The Stars’ future Oaks winner Taghrooda in a maiden at Newmarket. The progressive filly has now won her last three starts for trainer Chad Brown at Monmouth Park.

Siyouni took the honours in Deauville as his daughter Bourrée lifted the second Group victory of her career in the Gr. 3 Prix de Psyché. A juvenile Gr. 3 winner at Baden Baden last October, Andreas Lowe’s charge confirmed her form at three-year-old with a well-timed waiting performance in the ten furlong contest at Deauville. From the first crop of the Haras de Bonneval’s Siyouni, Bourrée scored by half a length from Sainte Amarante, while Sea The Stars’ daughter Light The Stars enhanced her black-type collection with third place.

Andreas Lowe confirmed his intention to return to France with the filly, who will be aimed at the Gr. 1 Prix de l’Opéra on 4th October.

Sinndar’s son Eye In The Sky is a champion in Scandinavia and the colt, winner of the Norwegian Derby and Swedish St. Leger last season, registered a third Stakes success with a victory in the Gr. 3 Oslo Cup at Ovrevoll. A Listed winner over two miles in Germany, the four-year-old, who is out of Linamix mare Saudade, has also been placed at Meydan. Eye In The Sky’s latest success came over a mile and a half, but his trainer Niels Petersen will now aim his charge towards a staying contest in France.
