Tamarillo could now be aimed at the Group III May Hill Stakes at Doncaster after taking a Nottingham maiden in convincing style. The filly, from Daylami’s first crop of two year olds, had already finished second twice, including a close second to subsequent six length Listed winner Lucky Pipit. Taking the lead soon after the start, she lengthened well in the straight to beat Doctrine by two and a half lengths, with the third placed Couplet a further seven lengths away.

Tamarillo thus became Daylami’s fifth individual winner from just eleven runners. These include Stakes winner Bay Tree, Group III Cherry Hinton Stakes third Birthday Suit and the highly promising ten length debutant winner Grey Swallow.
