October Sale has produced Stakes success in past. The week-long Arqana October Yearling Sale, starting on Monday 17th October, provides plenty of opportunity to acquire a yearling by an Aga Khan Studs sire.

The sale has in the past produced the likes of Gr.1 winner Zelzal for Sea The Stars, who has six yearlings catalogued this year including relations to his Gr.1 winners Sea The Moon and Cloth Of Stars as well as the likes of Shamardal and Danedream.

Gr.1 runners-up City Light and Le Brivido also sold at the Arqana October Sale as yearlings. Their sire Siyouni has 19 yearlings on offer in 2022, including relations to the aforementioned City Light as well as Giofra, Intello, Luxembourg, Polydream and Regal Parade, and a full brother to Classic winner Dream And Do.

Zarak

Rising star Zarak will be strongly represented, with 25 lots including the very first yearling through the ring. With an incredibly impressive winners to runners strike-rate of 69% (higher than any other sire in Europe), Zarak delivers a strong chance of producing a winner – but not only that, he is also the fourth leading sire in Europe by percentage of Stakes horses to runners (16%), behind only Dubawi, Frankel and Sea The Stars.

Dariyan, who last autumn enjoyed a flurry of success that saw him finish the year as the leading sire of two-year-olds by percentage winners to runners, has 13 yearlings catalogued.

This sale has in the past found significant success for Dariyan – in 2020 subsequent Group performers Mister Saint Paul, Galaxie Gold and Elizar went through the ring, with six of his nine yearlings catalogued going on to win races; and 2019 entry Anatiya also proved to be a multiple winner and a Stakes performer.
