His daughter Trixia back to best in Prix de Lieurey, and yearlings appeal at Arqana. Siyouni enjoyed a great day at Deauville on Monday as his daughter Trixia provided a classy display to lift the Gr. 3 Prix de Lieurey. During the first two sessions of Arqana’s premier yearling sale, the Haras de Bonneval sire has seen three progeny conceived at a €7,000 fee go under the hammer for six-figure sums.

Unbeaten as a juvenile when her wins included the Gr. 3 Prix des Réservoirs at Deauville, Trixia has been lightly raced so far in 2016 with a fourth place in the Gr. 3 Prix de la Grotte in April on her sole outing in the first semester. The filly returned to her best form on Monday and produced a stunning turn of foot to reel in Chartreuse in the final meters of this mile event. The Alain de Royer Dupré-trained Trixia holds an entry in the Gr. 1 Sun Chariot Stakes, also over a mile, at Newmarket on 1st October.

Trixia represents the colours of Jean-Claude Seroul and she was bought by Alain Decrion for 85,000 Euros at Arqana’s August yearling V2 sale in 2014.

Siyouni, the sire of Gr.3 Prix de Lieurey winner Trixia and 18 Stakes performers.

Her successful sire Siyouni was once again in high demand in the Hocquart de Turtot ring over the first days of the 2016 Arqana Sale. The three yearlings by this Classic stallion during the Sunday and Monday sessions sold for a total of 705,000 Euros.

The top price of these was lot 163, a filly out of a Jean-Luc Lagardère-bred Green Desert half-sister to dual Gr. 1 winner Amilynx and Stakes winners Amiwain and Amie de Mix, snapped up for 380,000 Euros by Shadwell France.

Also at Deauville, Siyouni saw an exciting juvenile, Kestila, make her debut on Saturday carrying the silks of H.H. the Aga Khan. Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, Kestila ran out the impressive two-length winner of her maiden over six and a half furlongs. This well-bred filly, out of winning Daylami mare Kerasha, is a half-sister to four Stakes performers including Gr. 3 scorer Keratiya.
