Sire of Tahiyra and Paddington was the leading sire of milers and second leading sire by prize money in 2023. Siyouni finished 2023 as the leading sire of milers in Europe, thanks to the exploits of four-time Group 1 winner Paddington, dual Group 1 winner Mqse De Sévigné and Cartier Champion Three-Year-Old Tahiyra.

The year was also Siyouni’s most successful one to date in terms of progeny prize money, which saw him finish second on the European leading sires list.

Siyouni was also the second leading sire of three-year-olds in Europe, the second leading sire by number of Group 1 wins (nine) and the third leading sire by number of Group 1 winners (three).

His progeny’s successes on the racetrack were matched in the sales ring, where Siyouni is consistently one of the most sought-after sires. He was responsible for the highest-priced colt sold at Arqana (€2.2 million) and the highest-priced two-year-old sold at the European breeze ups (€1.2 million). He also finished the year as the fourth leading European sire by yearling average.

The French sire sensation also has plenty to look forward to in 2024, not least Shin Emperor. The just-turned three-year-old is a full brother to multiple Group 1 winner Sottsass, and sold for €2.1 million to trainer Yoshito Yahagi at the Arqana August Yearling Sale in 2022. Now based in Japan, the colt very nearly became a Group 1 winner on 28th December on his final juvenile start, finishing a close second in the Gr.1 Hopeful Stakes at Nakayama.
