Sinndar is the sire of 4 Gr.1 winners on the flat.

The sire of four Gr.1 winners relocates to the West of France. A new partnership between the Aga Khan Studs and Haras du Lion will see Sinndar relocate to the Haras du Lion at Le Lion d’Angers in the west of France for the 2016 breeding season. Sinndar will stand at a fee of €3,500 live foal, which shows a slight reduction on his 2016 fee announced recently by The Aga Khan Studs. A champion racehorse for H.H. the Aga Khan, Sinndar remains the only horse to have won the Epsom Derby, the Irish Derby and the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe as a three-year-old. Sinndar is a proven stallion and has produced four Group 1 winners on the flat namely SHARETA, SHAWANDA, ROSANARA and YOUMZAIN, who is now a confirmed stallion. Sinndar has also established himself as a sire of jumpers as demonstrated by Group 1 winners DIAKALI (Prix Alain du Breil et Champion Four Year Old Hurdle à Punchestown) and MANDALI (Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil). More recently his son HARGAM won a Listed race before finishing third in this year’s Gr.1 JCB Triumph Hurdle.

Overall Sinndar has produced a total of 33 Stakes performers on the flat, 13 over the jumps and he is the sire of more than 51% of winners to runners.

Georges Rimaud, Manager of the Aga Khan Studs in France has commented: “There has been an increasing demand for Sinndar from breeders based all across France and our geographical location has often been a constraint for them. This opportunity will allow them to have direct access to a very proven, dual purpose stallion.”

Haras de la Rousselière and Ecurie des Mottes took over the Haras du Lion in 2014 and the stallion station will stand six stallions with varied profiles in 2016. François Thomas, who is in charge of nomination sales said: “We are very honored that The Aga Khan Studs have entrusted us with Sinndar for the 2016 season, he represents a valuable addition to our stallion roster. He will be the first Arc winner to Stand in the Grand Ouest area and is a most proven stallion, which represents an incredible opportunity for our clients. He is bound to attract a wide range of breeders and his excellent record as a sire of flat and jump performers in France, Ireland and England will make him very appealing”.
