Sinndar enjoys fine streak of form

Four winners in three days for the Haras de Bonneval sire While Sinndar’s flagbearer son Youmzain yet again proved himself to be of the very highest calibre with his valiant second by just a nose in the Gr 1 Coronation Cup at Epsom, the stallion’s progeny have been successful over a variety of distances and company recently.

Sinndar enjoyed a cross-card double on 8th June courtesy of Tyrrells Wood, winner of a staying handicap at Pontefract, and Sweetheart, who scored in a similar event at Folkestone. The pair were winning their fourth and fifth races respectively and five-year-old mare Sweetheart is also a highly-talented hurdler who notably took second in a Gr 2 contest at Ascot last January.

Two days later Brett Vale and Taralga provided another double when victorious at Brighton and Fairyhouse. The Mark Prescott-trained three-year-old Brett Vale was demonstrating remarkable toughness with his five-length success over ten furlongs as he had already won just four days earlier and then 24 hours later he was back in the fray to take second at Yarmouth.

Sinndar was unbeaten himself at two years old before going on to become a dual Derby and Arc de Triomphe winning champion at three. The son of Grand Lodge moved from Gilltown Stud in Ireland to the Haras de Bonneval in France in 2006 so his first French-born juveniles will be on the track this season. Sinndar stands for a fee of 10,000€ and in addition to Youmzain, he is also sire of Gr 1 heroine Shawanda.
