Classic hopes Siyenica and Nuntius among recent winners.

Gilltown Stud sires Azamour and Dalakhani have enjoyed a fine run of form recently, with a quartet of three-year-old winners which look sure to progress.

Aga Khan Studs bred Siyenica lived up to her pedigree when making a victorious debut in impressive style at Longchamp on 22nd April in the conditions race Prix du Louvre. This daughter of Azamour is a half-sister to Group 1 winner Siyouni (Pivotal) who now stands at Bonneval Stud, and to dual Group 1 victrix Siyouma (Medicean).

Azamour is also the sire of Kerisa, who carried the famous green and red silks to success in a ten furlong maiden at Leopardstown on 15th April. This progressive filly was placed as a juvenile and is a half-sister to black-type mares Karasiyra (Alhaarth) and Kirinda (Tiger Hill).

Dalakhani could have a Classic contender in Germany in the form of Nuntius. This Andreas Wohler-trained colt maintained his unbeaten record in two outings at Hoppengarten and is now one of the favourites for the German Derby in July.

Dalakhani’s daughter Lava Flow also holds Group 1 entries. This filly opened her account on her three-year-old debut in the conditions race Prix de la Flandrie at Longchamp on 18th April and is engaged in the Prix Saint-Alary and Prix de Diane. Fellow Dalakhani filly Dakatari, took third in the same contest at Longchamp.

Another Dalakhani filly, Elik, should soon find the winners enclosure after a pleasing second place in a Maiden race for Sir Michael Stoute, while Spicy Dal filled the same position on her début at Newbury recently. Dalakhani’s influence even extends as far as Japan, where his son A Shin Max took second place in an Allowance race at Kyoto.
