Daughter of Siyouni wins the Prix d’Ispahan, with Haya Zark in third. Mqse De Sévigné confirmed herself among the best older horses in Europe by winning the Gr.1 Prix d’Ispahan at ParisLongchamp on Sunday. It was a third Group 1 success for the daughter of SIYOUNI, who took both the Prix Rothschild and Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville last season.

Owned and bred by Baron Edouard de Rothschild, Mqse De Sévigné will now be pointed towards the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

"It's a dream, above all with a filly that I bred and from a mare that my father had," said Rothschild. "She'll be prepared for the Arc in October so we won't run her again until Deauville in August.

"I think what's really helped is that this is a family which improves with age, and they stay further with time. Her brother [Meandre] won three Group 1s over a mile and a half and so we'll give her one try at it for her last race in the Arc. There she showed she can really accelerate because they didn't go that fast and she really picked up."

Recent Gr.1 Prix Ganay victor Haya Zark (ZARAK) ran an excellent race to finish a close third.

On the other side of the globe, SIYOUNI three-year-old Shin Emperor finish third in the Gr.1 Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby). Trainer Yoshito Yahagi suggested after the race that the full brother to Sottsass is likely to be aimed at the Arc this autumn, with the possibility of a run in the Gr.1 Irish Champion Stakes beforehand.

There was also Stakes success for SEA THE STARS over the weekend when Legend Of Time won the Gr.2 Pennine Ridge Stakes in the USA. The globe-trotting three-year-old was already a three-time winner in Dubai this term, including the Listed Jumeirah Classic.
