Classic sire registers eleventh Stakes performer Lady Sybil became her sire Siyouni’s eleventh individual Stakes performer and his fifth individual Stakes winner at the weekend, thanks to her smooth success in the Listed Prix Amandine at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday.

Always in the leading pair in this seven-furlong contest, Lady Sybil stayed on strongly to the line to win by a length. This was a highly deserved first black-type victory for the filly, who had already filled the minor placings on several occasions at Listed and Group level at two and three years old.

Trained by Alex Pantall, the daughter of winning German mare Arsila (Tirol) is a dual Arqana graduate, as she sold at the October Yearling Sale in 2013 for 25,000 Euros before becoming a profitable pinhook at the Breeze-Up Sale the following May, where she was purchased for 47,000 Euros by Agence FIPS.

Siyouni is the sire of 11 Stakes performers including three Group winners and two Listed winners.

Haras de Bonneval-based stallion Siyouni is riding the crest of a wave currently as his progeny is led by Classic and Royal Ascot heroine Ervedya. The exciting young sire is also responsible for the promising juveniles Siderante and Kotama.

The former, an impressive maiden winner in May, took third in the Listed Prix La Flèche at Chantilly, while the latter carried H.H. the Aga Khan’s colours to second place in the recent Listed Prix Yacowlef at Deauville on her racecourse debut.

Siyouni is set to be strongly represented at Arqana’s forthcoming August Yearling Sale in Deauville. The son of Pivotal counts eleven yearlings in the Premium August catalogue, with a further seven progeny entered in the V2 section of the sale.
