The 2yo Kalanisi filly Casata, out of La Menorquina, won her maiden over 51/2 furlongs in the first juvenile race of the year at Klampenborg Racecourse in Copenhagen recently, to give the son of Doyoun his first winner. Trained by F. Reuterskiold at Sweden's southern-most racetrack, Jagersro, the Irish foaled Casata was bought at Goffs February Sale in 2004 for €25 000.

Winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf and the Champion Stakes, Kalanisi's first crop of yearlings were well received in the sales ring, fetching up to 90 000 guineas. Amongst his first crop are a half brother to Alamshar, a half sister to Daylami and Dalakhani, and a half sister to North Light. Updated 01/07/2005.
