Kalankari, the 3 year old Kalanisi colt out of Stately Princess, provided his sire with his first ever 3 year old winner at Lingfield today. Kalankari set off the 4-9 favourite on the basis of his solid juvenile form. He was initially bought by Blandford Bloodstock at Tattersalls Foal sales before catching the eye of his trainer Andrew Balding at the October yearling sales in 2004 to whom he was knocked down for 31 000 guineas.
