Iznik

Zarak filly is her sire’s second Stakes winner in a week following Shagara in the Henkel-Stutenpreis. Iznik ran out the authoritative winner of the Listed Prix Urban Sea at Lion d’Angers yesterday (Thursday 9th May). It was a first Stakes success for the four-year-old, who was already three times Stakes-placed and was purchased privately at the 2023 Arqana December Breeding Stock Sale by owner Jean-Claude Seroul.

Iznik is Zarak’s 18th individual Stakes winner, and his second in a week following the victory of Shagara in the Listed Henkel-Stutenpreis on Sunday. Shagara, who was a Group winning two-year-old, is now favourite for the Gr.2 German 1000 Guineas later this month.
