The Gilltown Stud sire shines in Australia and USA. Two sons of Dalakhani took the honours in two different continents on Saturday 27th April. Firstly, Reliable Man, winner of the 2011 Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly, lifted the second Group 1 prize of his career in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick. On only his second attempt since exportation to Australia, Reliable Man left the hot favourite and four-time Group 1 scorer It’s A Dundeel two and a half lengths back in second, proving his superiority.

Bred by NP Bloodstock, Reliable Man offered his sire a first victory at the highest level in Australia following those already registered in Ireland, England, France and America. This is a timely success for the Aga Khan Studs sire Dalakhani, who will shuttle to Cornerstone Stud in Australia for a first Southern Hemisphere season in 2013/2014.

Reliable Man, winner of the Jockey Club, won the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes on his second start in Australia.

Dalakhani’s second Group winner of the weekend came in the USA, thanks to Tigah. This progeny of the stallion son of Darshaan picked up the Gr 3 San Francisco Mile in California. The entire, born in 2008, is out of the Platini mare Macina and was sold for 120,000 Euros as a yearling at Arqana. After beginning his career in France, where he was a Listed runner-up, Tigah was exported to America in 2011; this is his first success at Stakes level.
