Heat Haze gave Aga Khan Studs sire Kahyasi another Grade I victory as broodmare sire when taking the Beverley D Stakes at Arlington on Saturday. This beautifully bred four year old sister to Banks Hill and Dansili staked her claim to emulate her sister’s victory in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf with this one a quarter length victory in this contest run over a mile and half a furlong.

Held up near the rear behind a slow early pace, Heat Haze came through the field to take the lead in the straight, prompting her jockey Jose Valdivia to comment: “At the three eighths, I knew I had a horse under me. She has an enormous turn of foot. I just tapped her with the stick and she was gone.”
