Fifth career Stakes victory for the first-crop son of Zarak. Haya Zark became the second Group 1 winner for his sire Zarak on Sunday following victory in the Prix Ganay, Europe’s first Group 1 race of 2024.

It was a fifth Stakes success for Haya Zark, who has also won the first European Group race, the Gr.3 Prix Exbury, for the past two seasons for owner/breeder Mme Odette Fau. It was also an emotional first Group 1 success for his trainer Adrien Fouassier.

Aga Khan Studs homebred Zarir finished in second on his first try at Group level.

The weekend was also a successful one for the green-and-red silks, with Ezeliya winning the Gr.3 Salsabil Stakes at Navan to confirm herself a prospect for The Oaks, Shembala finishing second in the Gr.3 Prix de Barbeville, Sumiha runner-up in the Listed Noblesse Stakes and four other winners across Ireland and France.
