Ten length debutant winner Grey Swallow could provide first season sire Daylami with his first Group winner as trainer Dermot Weld announced yesterday that he would be aimed at either the Group I Dewhurst Stakes or the Group I Grand Criterium.

Grey Swallow who won first time out at Galway last month, has already been talked about as a Guineas horse for next year, and was the subject of glowing reports from Weld after his debut win: “This horse has all sorts of gears. He could be very special.”

On his two year olds star’s future plans, Weld explained: “I gave him a break after Galway so he won’t go for the National Stakes. He is in good order and he will run in either the Dewhurst or the Grand Critérium.”

Daylami has now had six debutant winners including Stakes winner Bay Tree and the dual winner and Cherry Hinton Stakes third Birthday Suit.
