SENDAWAR AND KHALISA

World Champion Miler Sendawar’s first foals have been born in France, and have made a very pleasing impression. They include an attractive bay filly out of dual Group III winner Khalisa born on February 13 at the Haras de Bonneval, in Normandy.

The filly is a half sister to Prix de Sandringham fourth Khaliyna (behind Banks Hill), and the promising three-year-old Kahyasi colt, Khalkevi, who won his only start at two by six lengths. According to Haras de Bonneval manager Georges Rimaud: “Khalisa’s foal is a particularly strong individual, and a very nice filly.”

Also bred by the Aga Khan Studs and born at the Haras de Bonneval is a first filly foal out of Tawasila, a Listed winner in France from only two starts, and closely related to Prix du Jockey-Club winner and sire, Top Ville.

Other Sendawar foals include a bay colt out of the Polish Precedent mare Shamatiya, also born at the Haras de Bonneval, a bay colt out of winning mare Glebe Place belonging to Baron Von Zuylen, and a colt out of Hurtebize belonging to Hugues Delloyes, born at Thierry de la Herroniere’s Haras d’Ellon.

Sendawar won four Group I races as a three and four-year-old including the Poule d’Essai des Poulains, the St James’s Palace Stakes, the Emirates Prix du Moulin de Longchamp and the Prix d’Ispahan. He was voted Joint World Champion Miler at three with a rating equal to that of Dubai Millenium.
