Day or Night gave his first season sire Daylami a winning start in France when taking the Prix du Gros Buisson at Fontainebleau yesterday. Owned and bred by George Strawbridge, Day or Night is out of a sister to Grade I winners Thirty Six Red and Corrazona. After a smart break, Day Or Night was ridden close to the pace. Asked to quicken early in the straight, he responded very professionally to take the lead and run on strongly under pressure to repel a strong challenge from the highly regarded runner up Sunday Doubt (Sunday Silence, ex Pas de Reponse).

Promising first season sire Daylami has already had 8 winners to date, including exciting propect Grey Swallow, who won first time out by ten lengths and is now being aimed at the Dewhurst Stakes or the Grand Critérium. He is also the sire of Stakes winning filly Bay Tree, and the Group II Cherry Hinton Stakes placed Birthday Suit.
