The first foal by multiple Group 1 winner and champion AZAMOUR arrived on 13th January at Yeomanstown Stud in Ireland. The new born is a bay colt bred by Yeomanstown Stud and is out of the Stakes winner Bakewell Tart (Tagula ex Almond Flower by Alzao). The 7 year old mare is also an own sister to Stakes winner Macaroon. David O'Callaghan, a stud spokesman, described the new arrival as "a nice, correct colt with a good deep brown colour and no white markings".

AZAMOUR was a champion older horse in Europe in 2005. He was rated 126, above Motivator, Shamardal, Shirocco, Deep Impact, Bago, Oratorio and David Junior. He triumphed in four Groups 1 at 3 and 4 years: the Saint James's Palace Stakes, the Irish Champion Stakes, the Prince of Wales's Stakes and the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes. He stands at Gilltown Stud in Ireland for a fee of €25,000 in 2007.

The Aga Khan Studs had their first foal of the season born on Wednesday, the 17th of January. The new arrival is a bay filly by DALAKHANI out of the Stakes winning mare Kadaka (Sadler's Wells-Kadissya) herself a half sister to proven sire KAHYASI. Kadaka has two other products including a 2yo full brother to the new arrival that is currently in training with André Fabre.

DALAKHANI was an unbeaten champion at two and the winner of a Group 1 over a mile. At three he proved superior to his own generation and to the best older horses in Europe completing the rare double of the Prix de l'Arc deTriomphe. Dalakhani was the leading Freshman Sire by yearling average in 2006 averaging €246,000 for 23 lots sold.
