Dalakhani’s progeny continue their good run of form
Dalakhani’s progeny continue their good run of form with Centennial recently bringing his winning tally to two to maintain a healthy results ratio for his first season sire. Dalakhani has sired seven winners of eight races for a strike-rate of 55%. His best progeny to date looks to be the Dermot Weld-trained Chinese White, described by the Racing Post as having “Classic potential” after her six-length maiden win.
The Arc de Triomphe winner is understandably proving popular in the sales ring and one of his sons topped the ITS Select Yearling Sale at Rome in September at 220,000 €. The handsome half-brother to Gr.1 Prix Vermeille winner Sweet Stream was knocked down to Bobby O’Ryan on behalf of Hamdan Al Maktoum.
Several beautifully-bred Dalakhani yearlings are due to be sold at the forthcoming Goffs Million and Tattersalls October sales.
Dalakhani’s progeny at Goffs include Rumba Sound (Lot 250), a half-brother to Italian 1,000 Guineas (Gr.2) winner Rumba Loca, out of the half-sister to Italian champion two-year-old Rolly Polly, and a half-sister to Gr.1 National Stakes winner Definite Article (Lot 317).
Newmarket’s Tattersall’s October catalogue contains 14 Dalakhani yearlings and some of the best pedigrees are:
Lot 161: out of Gr.3 winner Majoune, is the half-brother to 3 winners including 2 Stakes performers.
Lot 173: a daughter of Gr.2 second Massarra, is a half-sister to Gr.1 winner and successful sire Invincible Spirit.
Lot 270: a half-brother to three Group winners, whose dam won a Listed event.
