Fellow Aga Khan sire Sea The Stars also on the Stakes scoresheet Following the Group 1 victory of Dolniya in Dubai, the Aga Khan Studs and their sires pursue their rich vein of form in Europe.

On her seasonal debut at Maisons-Laffitte, homebred filly Ervedya left her rivals trailing in the Gr.3 Prix Imprudence. The daughter of Siyouni is now firmly on the Classic trail after this impressive success which demonstrates that she has perfectly handled the transition from two to three years old.

Already a Group 3 winner against the colts in the Prix de Cabourg as a juvenile, Ervedya also took third place in the Gr.1 Prix Morny and filled the runner-up spot in the Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac over a mile. Jean-Claude Rouget’s charge will now step back up to a mile for her next race, which is likely to be the Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches, although the filly holds an entry in the 1000 Guineas.

Ervedya represents the first generation of Siyouni, France’s leading first-season sire in 2014, and is out of the Group-placed Elva (King’s Best) who revisits the Haras de Bonneval stallion again this year.

Just 24 hours earlier, Siyouni had shone in the sales ring as his son raised the top-price of £90,000 at the Brightwells breeze-up at Ascot. The son of Red Ransom mare Alfaguara was snapped up by Matt Coleman of Anthony Stroud Bloodstock, who told the Racing Post, « He is by a sire who did exceptionally well with his first crop of two-year-olds. He looks a strong, precocious type and we’d like to think he could be back here in June for Royal Ascot. »

Not to be outdone, Gilltown Stud stallion Sea The Stars enjoyed Stakes success on Wednesday as his daughter All At Sea recorded the second Listed win of her career. The four-year-old filly outclassed her rivals to lift the Prix Zarkava at Saint-Cloud by half a dozen lengths. By Classic sire Sea The Stars, Kirsten Rausing’s homebred All At Sea is out of triple Group 1 victrix Albanova, sister to dual Champion Stakes hero Alborada.
