The finalists for the 35th annual Eclipse Awards in America include INTERCONTINENTAL and HIRAPOUR, both offspring of the veteran KAHYASI. The winners will be announced on 23rd January at the Awards Ceremony in Beverly Hills, California.

The Juddmonte bred Intercontinental, whose broodmare sire is Kahyasi being by Danehill out of Hasili, won the Gr.1 Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf, her fifth Graded win in 2005. She is a finalist in the Female Turf Horse category alongside Cesario and Megahertz.

Hirapour is the other Eclipse Awards finalist, in the Steeplechase category. This Aga Khan bred son of Kahyasi out of Himaya won 2 Grade 1's in 2005 and was runner up to McDynamo in the Colonial Cup Hurdle Gr.1 at the end of November.
