It is with sadness that the Aga Khan Studs announce the loss of Dariyan, who was humanely euthanized on Thursday following an illness, despite the best efforts of the veterinary team. Winner of the Prix Ganay Gr.1 and Prix Eugène Adam Gr.2, DARIYAN had been a model of consistency during his racing career, finishing in the first five in 11 of his 13 starts.

By Shamardal, he was the first foal out of Group 1 winner Daryakana (Selkirk), who is herself a daughter of Prix de Diane Gr.1 winner Daryaba.

At stud, he is notably the sire of Group 3 winner Mister Saint Paul and Group performers Galaxie Gold and Elizar, among others.
