Coventina made it six winners for exciting first season sire Daylami when taking the EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Chepstow yesterday. Just four days after Tamarillo’s win at Nottingham, Coventina broke her maiden with a comfortable one and three quarter length victory over Serramanna, with the rest of the field a further nine lengths behind.

Held up in midfield, Coventina came through horses three furlongs out to take the lead and stay on strongly from the two furlong marker. After running very green on her debut, Coventina had run a creditable third last time out, and looks to have plenty of further improvement in her.
