Born To Sea, the last son of the great Urban Sea and a half-brother to Classic stallion Sea The Stars (picture), will stand at Gilltown Stud.

He will stand alongside his half brother Sea The Stars. The Directors of Sunderland Holding Inc. today announced that Born To Sea is relocating to Gilltown Stud to stand with his half brother Sea The Stars.

Christopher Tsui said in his statement that “Rathasker Stud and the Burns family did a wonderful job with Born To Sea and we are very grateful for what they achieved with him, the last son of our great mare Urban Sea, who is also the dam of both Sea The Stars and Galileo. We are delighted that H.H. the Aga Khan has agreed to stand him in Gilltown with our other great horse Sea The Stars and we look forward to continuing a long and fruitful association.”

Pat Downes said “Born To Sea will be a very interesting addition to our roster of stallions. He is a young stallion with a wonderful pedigree, and the recent demand for his foals at the sales is a clear indicator of the confidence of buyers to invest in another son of the outstanding matriarch, Urban Sea.”

Born To Sea had his first foals in 2014 and those sold at the recent foal sales averaged €52,700 with a top price of €220,000 and a further three foals who made in excess of €100,000. His fee in 2015 remains at €10,000 1st October and he will stand alongside Sea The Stars who stands at a fee of €125,000 and Dalakhani at a fee of €17,000.
