A trio of recent wins, plus a Gr 2 second, for the young sire. Azamour is making his mark as an accomplished sire of two-year-olds, with three recent juvenile victories and a second in the Gr 2 Beresford Stakes from Mawaakef. The stallion was himself a smart performer at two, unbeaten in two outings which included the Beresford Stakes, before going on to pick up four further Gr 1 successes at age three and four.

The Gilltown Stud sire has enjoyed a run of form with his youngest generation on the racetrack. The Kevin Prendergast-trained Mawaakef won his maiden nicely at Killarney in August, then stepped up in class to take second in the Beresford Stakes behind hot favourite Casamento.

Lindenthaler is another Pattern performer from Azamour’s latest crop and this German-trained colt is now two from two, having won Dusseldorf’s Listed Junioren-Preis over a mile on 19th September.

Two more Azamour progeny, Loving Spirit and Zoowra, both look to have a bright future after winning their respective debut maidens by five lengths each. James Toller’s Loving Spirit cost 42,000 Guineas at Tattersalls breeze-up this spring and he sailed to an easy victory in a 17-runner, 7-furlong maiden at Newmarket last weekend. He should have no difficulty in staying further next season. Michael Jarvis’s charge Zoowra also left a most pleasing impression when leaving her 15 rivals trailing in her wake in a similar event at Redcar.

The unbeaten Gr 3 Solario Stakes winner Native Khan was not declared in the Gr 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardère on Longchamp’s Arc card due to the testing ground and he should now be seen in either the Gr 1 Dewhurst Stakes or Racing Post Trophy.

From Azamour’s three-year-old generation, Wade Giles put up an excellent performance to take second place in the Gr 3 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk last Friday. The colt was racing over 11 furlongs for the first time after four outings over a mile, including a second in the Gr 3 Solonoway Stakes, and should certainly be able to score at this level.
