New Stakes victories for Siyouni, Zarak and the progeny of Aga Khan-bred mares.
Siyouni
The past week has brought a series of notable results for Aga Khan Studs stallions and families, with Siyouni and Zarak once again in the spotlight, and graduates of Aga Khan-bred mares continuing to add black type to the operation’s record.
Siyouni’s remarkable consistency at the highest level was underlined once again when his daughter Bellezza captured the Gr.2 Flower Bowl Stakes at Saratoga for owner-breeder Moyglare Stud Farm. Showing a decisive turn of foot, the progressive filly recorded her third career Stakes success with an authoritative victory of more than two lengths. She could now be aimed at the Breeders’ Cup later this year.
Hot on the heels of a series of recent Stakes winners, Flatten The Curve added further black type for his sire Zarak, storming to a five-length victory in the $1 million Bowling Green Gold Cup Invitational Stakes at Kentucky Downs. Trained by Henk Grewe for owner Eckhard Sauren, the colt was registering his fourth Stakes success of the season, further cementing Zarak’s reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting emerging sires.
Sibayan
In France, Sibayan carried the Aga Khan silks to another highlight of the Deauville summer meeting when landing the Gr.2 Grand Prix de Deauville. The four-year-old showed both consistency and progression to record his seventh career success, having never finished outside the first two in 2025.

The enduring influence of Aga Khan-bred mares was also on display thanks to two promising three-year-olds.
In California, The Padre, out of Shalanaya, added to his profile with a first Graded win in the Gr.2 Del Mar Derby. His dam, a Group 1 winner on the track, was sold at the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale before her daughter Shalamba accumulated five Stakes performance. The Padre, bred in Ireland by John Halley, has shown similar consistency with three wins from four starts, and could now target the Gr.1 Hollywood Derby.
Back in Europe, The Strikin Viking, out of Asmeen, gained a deserved Group victory when landing the Gr.3 Goldene Peitsche at Baden-Baden. Already a multiple Group performer, the colt was bred by Tally Ho Stud. His dam Asmeen, a daughter of a sister to champion Azamour and to the dam of five-time Gr.1 winner The Autumn Sun, was sold at the Goffs November Breeding Stock Sale for €42,000.
