The juvenile Group winner Native Khan (Azamour) who subsequently finished third in the 2000 Guineas was sold at the Arqana Yearling Sale in 2009.

Dalakhani, Azamour and Sinndar feature in August catalogue. The in-form Dalakhani, whose son Reliable Man enjoyed Classic success in the Gr 1 Prix du Jockey Club in June, will have a particularly strong hand during Arqana’s elite Deauville yearling market. The Gilltown Stud-based sire will be represented by nine youngsters, and all of these have been selected for the first two days’ premium sessions of the sale.

Lot no 7 will set the ball rolling for the Aga Khan sires and this colt is a full brother to Gr 3 scorer Chock A Block, being out of Gr 1 EP Taylor Stakes winner Choc Ice who descends from the same Aga Khan line as Shergar. He will be followed through the ring by a half-sister to Gr 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes winner Chelsea Rose, consigned by Neustrian Associates.

Other Dalakhani progeny boasting Gr 1 winning dams or siblings include lot 23, a half-sister to Prix du Jockey Club hero Blue Canari, and lot 77, a daughter of Gr 1 Premio Lydia Tesio victrix Lune d’Or, while the Haras de la Louvière’s lot 200 is a grey colt out of a half-sister to the exceptional Urban Sea.

The Deauville catalogue features four Azamour yearlings and these are headed by lot 213 who is a half-sister to top class stayer Brigantin (Ascot Gold Cup 3rd, winner of Gr 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier), out of the Listed winning and multiple Group placed Banyu Dewi. The other trio of Azamour youngsters are all from Aga Khan maternal families, with lot 403 being out of Shermiyna whose third dam is an own sister to Shergar, and lot 447 a great grandson of Zahra.

Sinndar has a quartet of yearlings set to pass through the ring during the final session. Of these, lot 395 Sanadar is out of a half-sister to triple Gr 1 winner and Arc third Sarafina, lot 420 is out of a half-sister to Gr 1 Spinaway Stakes scorer Hot Dixie Chick, and lot 432 is a half-sister to Gr 2 Italian 1000 Guineas victrix Windhuk.

Arqana’s Deauville yearling sale will take place from 22nd to 25th August.
