Young Aga Khan stallions were much in evidence during Dermot Weld’s stable tour, as Grey Swallow and Moonlight Dance were both noted as horses to follow. Grey Swallow’s exploits have been widely publicised and he is now a leading contender for the 2,000 Guineas. The unbeaten son of Daylami is reported by his trainer to have wintered well: “He has grown and strengthened into a lovely horse since last season and has also developed mentally… He is a relaxed, laid-back individual, clean limbed and straightforward to train… He will either go straight for the 2,000 Guineas or run in the trial at Leopardstown first.”

From a team of 60 two year olds, Weld also highlighted a two year old half sister to Grey Swallow by first season sire Sinndar. “Moonlight Dance is quite forward but it will be May before she runs, over six furlongs.”
