All five stallions on the Aga Khan Studs roster were among the leading sires of 2021 across various categories.

Sea The Stars and Siyouni once again finished the year as the top sires standing in their respective countries, with Sea The Stars second on the European list by prize money and Siyouni close behind in fourth. Both stallions achieved their highest ever tallies of Stakes winners (22 for Sea The Stars and 19 for Siyouni) and Group winners in 2021, headed by the likes of scintillating Group 1 winners Baaeed and St Mark’s Basilica.

Sea The Stars’ dual Classic-winning son Harzand meanwhile was among the top three on the European sires list by percentage of three-year-old winners to runners.

Young French-based sires Dariyan and Zarak both enjoyed notable success with their juveniles. Dariyan finished 2021 as the leading sire in Europe by percentage of two-year-old winners to runners, and Zarak was the leading first season sire in France by prize money, Stakes winners, Stakes performers, Group winners and Group performers, as well as topping the European rankings for first season sires by percentage of two-year-old winners to runners.
