Aga Khan sires feature highly in world thoroughbred rankings

The Aga Khan Studs stallions Dalakhani and Sinndar have both been recognised in the final World Thoroughbred Rankings for 2011, with representatives among the leaders of their categories.

Dalakhani’s Gr 1 Prix du Jockey Club hero Reliable Man is joint top three-year-old trained in France, alongside Epsom Derby winner Pour Moi. Reliable Man earned his rating of 122 with his winning performance in the Gr 2 Prix Niel, beating Gr 1 Grand Prix de Paris scorer Méandre. Like his son, Reliable Man’s sire Dalakhani won the Prix du Jockey Club and Prix Niel, with the Gilltown stallion also lifting the Gr 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

Shareta, out of Sinndar, is the only daughter of a French stalliosn amongst top fillies and mares.

Another Arc-winning sire, the Haras de Bonneval’s Sinndar, was also distinguished in the latest rankings list through his daughter Shareta. The Aga Khan Studs-bred three-year-old was awarded a rating of 120 thanks to her second position in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. She is the only daughter of a French-based stallion among the top ten fillies and mares.

Other Aga Khan Studs graduates to feature among the leaders in the World Thoroughbred Rankings are Behkabad (rating 122) for his second place in the Gr 2 Grand Prix de Chantilly and Sarafina (rating 121), winner of the Gr 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud. Former Aga Khan representative Rajsaman was allocated a figure of 119 for his victory in the Gr 2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein.
