The Aga Khan Studs will present 13 horses in training at the Arqana Autumn Sale on Monday 14th November, over half of whom have won one or more races in 2022.

Entered as a wildcard, lot 344, Carini, is one of the highlights of the draft. The three-year-old son of Siyouni has raced six times in 2022, including a hat-trick of victories and a second in the Listed Prix Vulcain on his last start at Deauville on 19th October.

Another highlight is lot 375, Haziym, a three-year-old colt by Lope De Vega who has won once and placed twice at Stakes level this season over 6f, including a close third in the Gr.3 Prix Texanita at Chantilly.

Three of the draft have won additional races since the catalogue was printed. Lot 372, Shaiyhar, is an imposing three-year-old gelding by Camelot who has run three times to date, winning his last two starts – most recently a Class 2 event on 17th October. Following him next through the ring is Zanndabad, who won his second race of the year (his fourth overall) on 22nd October. The son of Iffraaj was also Stakes-placed last season at two.

Lot 237, Ashiktash, meanwhile broke his maiden by three and a half lengths on 5th November, and is now a winner and twice placed in four starts.

The other horses to have won races this year are Ashghar (lot 295), Edzel (lot 291) and Rahmi (lot 293).

Two more of the Arqana draft have each placed more than once this season – lot 292 Kotari (four times in six starts) and lot 236 Sharann (three times in four starts) - while lot 200 Douriann made his racecourse debut on 6th November, finishing third.
