Hardiyna was unraced, but boasted an attractive pedigree, being by Sea The Stars out of a Group winning and Group 1 placed half-sister to Champion Three-Year-Old Harzand.

Hardiyna was sold at the Goffs November Sale in 2019 to Yeguada Centurion for €72,000, and the Rock Of Gibraltar foal she was carrying was subsequently christened Big Rock.

Big Rock won five races for his owner-breeders, the highlight of which was the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on British Champions Day in 2023. He also placed four further times at Group 1 level, including when second to Ace Impact in the Prix du Jockey Club. At the end of 2024 he retired to stand as a stallion at Haras de Grandcamp.
