By Zarak, Varandir is the first foal out of Stakes winning Pivotal mare Varkesha, whose further family is that of Champion Three-Year-Old, Vadeni.

Varandir made a winning racecourse debut in April 2026 at ParisLongchamp, and followed up a couple of weeks later with an easy success at Lyon Parilly. Back in Paris and on his first try at Stakes level, Varandir upped his game still further, winning the Gr.3 Prix Hocquart and confirming himself a likely Group 1 horse in the making.
