At the sales
The Aga Khan Studs present a draft of nine well-bred three and four year olds for the forthcoming Goffs February Sale from 6th to 8th February. The consignment features both winners and untried colts, geldings and fillies, with the fillies representing exciting breeding prospects.
Winning filly Harrana, by New Approach and out of a Listed-winning half-sister to dual Derby hero and young sire Harzand, promises to be a major attraction. Offered as lot 580, the four-year-old filly hails from a top-class Aga Khan Studs family. She is a half-sister to four winners including Group 3 scorer Hazapour, while her second dam, Group 3 victrix Hazariya, has also produced Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed Harasiya, and Stakes placed Haziyna in addition to the 2016 Champion European Three-Year-Old Harzand.
Lot 558 Elmaliya represents one of the Aga Khan Studs’ most illustrious maternal lines, as the filly is out of a half-sister to the remarkable quartet of Group 1 winners Enzeli, Estimate, Ebadiyla and Edabiya. By Champion Australian Sprinter Sepoy, Elmaliya is a half-sister to two black-type performers, Group 3 winner Edelmira and Listed-placed Elishpour.
Some pedigrees stand out among the unraced individuals. Lot 62 Ashqar, by Redoute’s Choice, is out of a half-sister to Azamour, and lot 60 Aliym (Zoffany) is a son of Listed victrix Aliyfa who is the half-sister to Group 1 scorer Alandi and is already dam of Stakes winner Alveena.
Unbeaten juvenile is out of Aga Khan Studs-bred Zeroua.
