Graduates of the Aga Khan Studs have once again performed with distinction on the world stage in 2023 – and buyers will have another chance to find their next star at the horses in training sales at Goffs and Arqana this autumn.

Aga Khan graduates bred and sold in Ireland in recent years include Gr.1 performers Kalapour, Sonaiyla, Tashkhan and Zanahiyr, Gr.2 winner Bashiyr (Irish Sequel) and multiple Group winner Diamil, as well as Shelir, placed in multiple Group 2 contests in Dubai as well as winning the valuable Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot in 2022.

A draft of nine horses in training will head to the Goffs Autumn Sale for 30th October. They include Zariygann, a once-raced Sea The Moon half-brother to high-class hurdler Zanahiyr; Kadeen, a three-year-old son of New Approach who in five starts has won once and placed four times; Darazeni, a two-year-old by Intello who has placed since the catalogue was printed; and Imadpour and Kalikapour, who both won races at two.

The Arqana sale in 2022 meanwhile was the source of subsequent Stakes winner and Group-placed Douriann, as well as five further winners, including Carini and Shaiyhar, who have both won races since their export to Australia and hold future Group race entries.

A consignment of 10 is set for this year’s sale, and all bar one of them are already proven winners. They include three-year-old Sheradann, who has notched up a hat trick of victories this year including a Class 2 at Fontainebleau since the catalogue was printed, dual winner and Stakes performer Behtar, fellow dual winners Beshtani and Mirabad, and Cannjayar, winner of his only start to date and half-brother to Carini.
