The success of Zanahiyr in this month’s Gr.1 American Grand National Hurdle Stakes is the latest example of an Aga Khan graduate competing for new connections at the highest level, worldwide. He joins the likes of Kalapour (a Group 1 winner in Australia), Dilawar, Elamaz, Eliyass, Liari and Shartash on the roll call of Stakes winners over the past two seasons – a list that spans both hemispheres and both the flat and jumping disciplines.

This autumn, the Aga Khan Studs will consign 15 horses in training at Goffs and five at Arqana. 

Horses sold at the Goffs Autumn Sale last year include Masoun, who won two races for the Joseph O’Brien stable this summer, and Raydamann, a winner over hurdles for Gordon Elliot and placed at the Punchestown festival. In 2025, the draft is highlighted by Group performers Reyenzi and Tangapour, as well as dual winner Esherann – whose half-brother Erzindjan was Group 2 placed following his own sale.

At the Arqana Autumn Sale meanwhile, the draft includes Group 3 winner Midak, together with Ebi and Talakan, who have both placed again since the catalogue was printed.
