Redoute’s Choice colt represents joint venture between Aga Khan Studs and Arrowfield.
Redoute's Choice
The third generation of yearlings born from the partnership of the Aga Khan Studs and Arrowfield in Australia will be represented on Friday when a son of Daralara goes under the hammer on the Gold Coast.
This colt is the third offspring of Daralara who was one of the first Aga Khan broodmares to be exported to Arrowfield in Australia in 2008. The Barathea mare won three races and was placed in three Listed contests. She stems from an excellent Aga Khan bloodline responsible for Champion filly Darjina and Prix du Jockey Club winner Darsi.
This yearling is a close relative to triple Group 1 winner Darjina
Daralara’s first foal, by Hussonet, was sold for Aus$ 100,000 at the Melbourne Premier Sale in 2011. Her second offspring, by Flying Spur, raised Aus$ 200,000 at Inglis’ Australian Easter Yearling Sale last year. Daralara is now back in foal to Redoute’s Choice, who recently arrived at the Aga Khan Studs Haras de Bonneval in Normandy for his first season of shuttle service.
Offered as lot 507 during Friday’s session of the prestigious Magic Millions Sale, the colt can be viewed on this video.
2025 has been another successful year for the connections of mares bred and sold by the Aga Khan Studs. No fewer than four Group 1 winners have flown the flag worldwide – including two high-profile juveniles.
