Darkova, the dam of triple Gr.1 winner Almanzor, was sold for €16,000 by the Aga Khan Studs

Aga Khan broodmares have been in the headlines in recent months thanks to the exploits of Classic and Group 1 winners Almanzor, Capri, Librisa Breeze and Vadamos, whose dams were all sold at public auction. In addition, the dams of Shakeel and Harzand also changed hands before the Classic successes of their sons. The consignment from the Aga Khan Studs at the upcoming Goffs Breeding Stock Sale offers more fillies and mares from top families with potential to produce high-class performers.

One highlight among broodmares is likely to be Kalabaya (lot 898), a winning half-sister to unbeaten Group 3 winner and Classic hope Luminate. By proven broodmare sire Sinndar, Kalabaya is out of a half-sister to the top class Kalanisi.

Aliyfa (Spinning World, lot 903) is a Listed winner herself and already dam of Listed winner Alveena. In foal to leading French sire Siyouni, she is a half-sister to dual Group 1 winning stayer Alandi.

The dam of three Stakes performers and notably Gr 2 Prix de Royallieu winner Ebiyza, beautifully-bred Ebalista (Selkirk, lot 905) is out of Champion three-year-old filly in Ireland, Ebadiyla. Ebadiyla is one of the famous four Group 1-winning siblings, alongside Enzeli, Estimate and Edabiya. Her daughter Ebiyza has also been covered by the Haras de Bonneval’s Siyouni.

Lot 906 Elbasana also offers a sought-after opportunity to invest in this exceptional family, as this mare is a half-sister to the quartet of Enzeli, Estimate, Ebadiyla and Edabiya. Elbasana has produced four winners to date, including Gr 3 winner Edelmira and Listed-placed Elishpour, and she is in foal to Gleneagles.

In foal for the first time, to first-season sire Vadamos, lot 897 Darkyila is a winner and is out of a half-sister to the dams of champions Almanzor and Darjina.

Attractive propositions among the fillies out of training include three-time winner Hunaina (Tamayuz, lot 1019), a close relative to Gr 1 Fillies and Mares Champions Stakes Seal of Approval and Asmat (lot 1018), a daughter of Dansili out of a sister to multiple Group 1 sire Azamour.
