No fewer than 43 fillies and broodmares from the Aga Khan Studs will make their way to the Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.
Group 1 winner Vadawina, already dam of a Group 2 winner
No less than 43 fillies and broodmares from the Aga Khan Studs will make their way to the Arqana breeding stock sale, to take place on December 7th to 10th in Deauville. Among them are daughters and sisters to many of the finest performers that carried the green and red silks in recent years, including Rosanara, Ashalanda, Behkara, Shamdala, Sageburg, Darsi, Behkabad, Daryakana and Kesampour.
Broodmares:
Vadawina (Unfuwain) is likely to be one of the stars of the show at Deauville. The Gr.1 Prix Saint-Alary heroine has already produced Group 2 scorer Vadamar (Dalakhani), and was covered by Redoute’s Choice during his first Northern Hemisphere season at Haras de Bonneval. Blue hen Mintly Fresh (Rubiano) is the dam of multiple Group 1 winner in Australia Manighar as well as this year’s Group 1 performer Manndawi. Her first daughter, Group 3 victrix Minatlya, has herself already produced two Group fillies. Mintly Fresh will be offered in foal to Makfi.

The 17 mares offered in foal include Roxelana (Red Ransom), a half-sister to the outstanding juvenile and Prix de Diane runner-up Rosanara. She is expecting a close relative to that great filly as she is in foal to Rosanara’s sire Sinndar. Also in foal to Sinndar is Enfant Modèle (Peintre Celebre), a daughter of Group 2 victrix Sage Et Jolie and half-sister to Group 1 hero and sire Sageburg. Darsha (Sakhee) is another young mare with a most attractive profile as she was placed in the Gr.3 Prix Minerve and Gr.2 Prix de Royallieu, is a half-sister to Prix du Jockey Club victor Darsi, and is offered in foal to Myboycharlie.
Broodmares with a proven record in the breeding shed also include Marque Royale (Royal Academy), the dam of Listed winners Marquix and Sceptre Rouge, carrying to Dalakhani; Diamond Tango (Acatenango), who won the Gr.2 Prix de Pomone, has already produced a black type performer and is offered in foal to the exciting Tamayuz; and Group 2 placed Shamdara (Dr Devious), the dam of Gr.1 Secretariat Stakes hero Shamdinan and Australian Group 2 scorer Shawardi, is in foal to Nathaniel.

Fiilies:
26 fillies in training are catalogued for this sale, including Alain de Royer Dupré’s Daldena, who has just opened her account at Chantilly over 2100 metres (10.5f) in eye-catching fashion. This daughter of Anabaa is out of a half sister to Daylami and Dalakhani. Kassama (Nayef), a half sister to Group 2 scorer Kesampour, also won last time out, in September over a mile and a half at Longchamp, on what was only her third outing.
Shanya (Ramonti) is a half-sister to Gr.1 Prix de l’Opéra heroine Shalanaya and has been placed twice from three outings, the latest of these performances having taken place at Chantilly since the catalogue was printed. Basira (Azamour) is an unraced daughter of the great Behkara, winner of the Gr.2 Prix Hubert de Chaudenay and dam of Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris victor Behkabad. Darysina (Smart Strike) is out of the Gr.1 Prix de Diane victrix Daryaba, hence a half-sister to Daryakana, who took the Gr.1 Hong Kong Vase, Gr.2 scorer Daramsar and exciting juvenile Daraybi.
