Group 3 winner Rajsaman and Classic second Rayeni head the Arqana trio.
Rajsaman
The Aga Khan Studs send a small but select draft to Arqana's Arc sale, held on 2nd October on the eve of the famous Longchamp showpiece for which the stable’s Behkabad is current favourite. Three Aga Khan-bred colts are entered in the catalogue, and they are all Stakes performers, and all boast ratings of well over 90 which make them eligible for the Dubai Carnival.
Lot 44 Rajsaman boosted his catalogue page when finishing a close 3rd on Saturday in the Gr.3 Prix du Prince d’Orange over ten furlongs at Longchamp. Earlier this year, the colt picked up
Rayeni
The Gr.3 Prix de Fontainebleau over a mile for trainer Alain de Royer Dupré. He won two races last season as a juvenile, including the Listed Criterium de Lyon. Rajsaman is by Linamix and out of winning Lammtarra mare Rose Quartz. As such he is the full brother to dual Listed victrix Rosawa, dam of Gr.1 Prix Marcel Boussac heroine and Prix de Diane runner-up Rosanara. The family also features Australian Gr.1 winner Whobegotyou and American Group scorers such as Cuddles and Northern Afleet.
Lot 41 Rayeni travels to Saint-Cloud from the Irish yard of John Oxx and this four-year-old Indian Ridge colt has been a consistent and talented performer from the outset. Unbeaten in a pair of outings at two, including the Gr.3 Killavullen Stakes, he finished second in the Gr.1 Irish 2000 Guineas on his seasonal debut at three. Rayeni is also winner of the Listed Testimonial Stakes over six furlongs at the Curragh and placed this year in two Group 3 events over seven furlongs. Out of a winning Rainbow Quest mare, his granddam Rayseka lifted the Gr.3 Royal Whip Stakes and took second place in the Gr.1 Irish St Leger.
The Jean-Claude Rouget-trained Kermiyan will be presented as lot 28 and this son of Green Desert has won three of his five races this season over distances ranging from six to seven and a half furlongs. At two he won one race and finished second in the Listed Criterium de l’Ouest. Kermiyan is the half-brother to Group 3-winning juvenile Keratiya and both his second and third dams were Group 3 scorers in Ireland.
