A classy consignment of 13 horses for Arqana’s forthcoming mixed sale looks set to continue the trend.

Over half of the Aga Khan entries in the Saint Cloud catalogue for Thursday 2nd July have already proved their worth with success on the racecourse, and the draft represents some of the stable’s best families including relatives of the Group 1 winners Zarkava, Ashkalani, Darjina, Khalkevi and Sagamix.

Among the winners are three-year-olds Ashkandi (Lot 145), a son of Sendawar out of the half-sister to Ashkalani and the dam of Gr 2 winning hurdler Ashkazar, Zarkamar (Lot 184) who is half-brother to Zarkava’s dam and Grade 1 steeplechaser Zarkali, and Selagan (Lot 217), a son of Dalakhani and the full sister to Sagamix and Sage et Jolie. Sanajiyr (Lot 219) also won his only start comfortably at Chantilly over 1600m on 19th June and looks sure to improve for this outing.

Three other colts look excellent prospects for the jumps market notably dual Group 1 winner, Daryaba’s half brother, Darban (Lot 146) a 16.1hh son of dual purpose sire Kalanisi; Bryman (Lot 148) an improving son of Linamix and Darregar (Lot 147) another 16.1hh unraced colt from the immediate family of Jockey-Club winner and National Hunt sire, Darsi.

Further unraced entries feature Sinndar colts Khalashan (Lot 182), out of a half-sister to Group 1 winner and sire Khalkevi, and Rijapour (Lot 215) who is half-brother to Listed scorer Riyalma.

A further four Aga Khan-breds are offered for private sale via the studs’ website. A recent addition to the online sale is Karkari, placed in each of his three outings in Ireland for John Oxx and out of a half-sister to Group winners Kasthari and Karasta. Breeding potential is offered by unraced fillies Dalarna, a daughter of a half-sister to Daliapour, Sagamix daughter Scarlana who is half-sister to three winners, and Zariyka, a Kalanisi half-sister to Grade 1 placed hurdler Zarinava, from the family of Zainta.
