Sent out in the Aga Khan's colours by André Fabre, Vison Célèbre outran his owner's Alain de Royer-Dupré trained colt Darsi at Longchamp yesterday. Breaking his maiden in fine style, Vison Célèbre swept past the field in the closing stages of the 11f conditions race, the first on the card at the Parisian track. In doing so the impressive son of Peintre Célèbre left one and a half lengths between him and runner-up Darsi (Polish Precedent), a winning juvenile last year.

Vison Célèbre's dam, the Linamix mare Visionnaire, was twice placed at Group 1 level and is out of the Mr. Prospector mare Visor. Like many of the late Jean-Luc Lagardère's breeding stock, she was a winner in America and her 2002 covering by Sinndar has resulted in another Classic contender in Visindar.
